Everton vs Juventus match review !!

Last night or should I say this morning for any fans in Europe Juventus took on Everton in the International Champions Cup at San Francisco's AT&T Park. Juve fielded an arguably weak side against Everton with no Buffon, Pirlo or Chiellini.

The first half of the game finished goalless with neither side being able to break the deadlock despite having some extremely good chances. Everton started off the better side and even had a goal disallowed but it wasn't long before the Bianconeri got into the game and on the 26th minute they should've been ahead when he hit the ball past the post from 5 yards. The half finished with Everton on top and John Stone nearly put them ahead like they deserved when he hit the post on the stroke of half time.

Everton started the second half as they finished the first and went one up after 61 minutes through a goal from Kevin Mirallas. Juventus then stepped up the level and put a lot of pressure on the Everton defence and made Tim Howard put in some tremendous saves in front of his countrymen. But even Howard keep out Asamoah's equaliser on 80 minutes when he fired the ball into the corner of the goal leaving Howard helpless. The game finished 1-1 and so the game went straight to penalties. All of the penalties were going good until Howard came out the hero as he saved Peluso's penalty to give the Merseyside team a 6-5 win.

To be fair this is just a pre season friendly and is not what to expect for the new season ... thankfully but instead just to get the players fit for the upcoming season. Obviously I was disappointed to see the team lose and I think a few things have to change but some players impressed me. Asamoah obviously with his goal and he put in a great performance. Meanwhile Storari and Vidal also impressed. Juventus do not go home straight away though and will play the loser of the Real Madrid/LA Galaxy game.
